"My Black Flesh and My White Flesh Don't Get Along" is a body of work that converges imagery and content to explore my emotional journey living as a biracial individual in America. I am nude in many of these self-portraits to emphasize a space of being vulnerable. Sometimes I have painted myself gray as a metaphor for being both black and white. And, some of the titles used in this series are from movies that deal with racial mixing as a theme.
